U.S. Applicants

Application requirements for the Specialized Associate Degree and Certificate Programs include:

  1. Completion of Application Form for Admission
  2. Typed Educational Objectives Essay
  3. Possession of high school diploma or GED
  4. A minimum score of 19 on the Wonderlic test (timed at 12 minutes)
  5. Payment of non-refundable $25.00 application fee
  6. Completed personal interview with Admissions Director*

International Applicants

Application requirements for the Specialized Associate Degree and Certificate Programs include:

  1. Completion of Application Form for Admission
  2. Typed Educational Objectives Essay
  3. Possession of high school diploma or GED translated into English
  4. A minimum score of 19 on the Wonderlic test (timed at 12 minutes)
  5. Payment of non-refundable $125.00 application fee
  6. Completed personal interview with Admissions Director*
  7. Proof of financial support**
  8. Proficiency in English***

In addition to your enrollment application and application fees, FCC requires the following documents before the Certificate of Eligibility I-20 form will be issued. All documents sent to the Admissions Office must be in English, or include an English-language translation.

  1. A copy of the page in your passport that shows your birth date, citizenship and country of birth, or a copy of your birth certificate
  2. A copy of your high school or college diploma (e.g., AA, BA, BS), or a transcript or its equivalent showing your graduation date. If graduation documentation is not available, please contact the Education Board in the country of your school and ask them to send an affidavit proving graduation and date. Transcripts must be provided on official school stationary.
  3. Financial Support Requirements – see below

* Interviews - FCC will arrange a telephone interview between international applicants and an Admissions Advisor. The applicant will be temporarily accepted or rejected pending the results of the Wonderlic test which must be taken on campus.

** Financial Support - International applicants are required to supply proof of financial support verifying that they are able to meet their financial obligations and will not be dependent on part-time employment for financial support while attending school. Proof of financial support should include one of the following: (1) a bank statement from your bank showing balance to converted US dollars, or (2) if someone other than yourself will be supporting you while in the U.S., a letter from them stating they will support you and a statement from their bank. In either case, the balance on the bank statement must be enough to cover one year's tuition plus at least $1250/month for one’s living expenses. (Approximate $32,000 USD).

** English Proficiency - Proficiency in the English language is required and is determined by the results of the Wonderlic test and a personal interview. The school does not provide English as a Second Language instruction. All courses are taught in English. It is not required that the international students take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), however, a TOEFL score of 450 or better will ensure an easier understanding of the skills being taught.

 

After your enrollment has been accepted and all your documents have been received, your Certificate of Eligibility Form I-20 will be sent to you within 10 business days of your acceptance. FCC strongly advises you to apply for your visa immediately after you receive your I-20. The process can take at least 90 days. SEVIS I-901 Fee Information:
The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) require international students to pay a Student and Exchange Visitor Information System (SEVIS) I-901 $100 processing fee prior to applying for your M-1 visa. The I-901 fee can be paid electronically or by mail, and must be paid at least three business days prior to your visa interview at the Consulate. Information about the I-901 Fee can be found at www.fmjfee.com.

FCC will provide you with the payment information and the fee form with your I-20. You must take your Form I-20/M/N and proof of your SEVIS fee payment to the nearest U.S. Embassy or Consulate to apply for your visa. You must apply in person for the visa in your own country. Do not come to the United States until you have the I-20 in hand (stamped M1) and the applicable student visa stamp in your passport. Canadian citizens are exempt from this requirement and only need to present the I-20 Form and proof of your SEVIS fee payment at the U.S. port of entry.
